So, I don't know Dead Like Me either, but oooh do I love the narrative voice you have going here! It's light but without missing depth. The dynamics between Jared and Jensen with a highlight of Jensen's characterisation and voice, and the way you manage to give it that important undercurrent of special trust, if you will, what with Jensen finally opening up to Jared of his own volition, is also something that I adore about this. The death scenes were all, uh, so very well done, sometimes just plain funny (Jared's own death!) or very touching, like Mimi's. I also love how you work with the factor of accepting death and your new job in the afterlife without making it too gloomy or melodramatic. You just have an overall lovely pace with great plot development and wonderful world-building going for you here which makes this story feel so well-rounded and coherent in its own right. I enjoyed reading this very, very much!
